Ford began a solo heavy-metal career following the split of her band in 1979. Ford began vocal training before releasing her first solo album, 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of 'Dancin On the Edge'. Ford's albums were not very successful, so she disappeared for a couple of years. It was 1988 when Ford released her groundbreaking success album , 'Lita.' Kiss Me Deadly and Close My Eyes Forever Both that were massive hits, are two examples. However, the success of her music was not long-lasting as she disappeared from the industry for several years. In 1995, she released her debut album "Black," and fifteen years later 'Wicked Wonderland. Her latest album "Time Capsule," released in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
